Superior Chutes and Compactors Installations Inc. manufactures and installs waste and linen chute systems with over 25 years of industry experience. Operating a plant in East Orange, we offer chute systems compliant with NFPA 82 and national building codes. Standard chutes are 24" in diameter, built from aluminized or stainless steel, and feature welded seams, sprinkler systems, and various intake door options, all fire-rated to meet NYC and UL standards.
Our offerings include traditional trash and linen chutes, recycling chutes with electric interlock and diverter chambers for waste separation, and specialty chutes for industries like banking, food, and construction. Installation is straightforward, with labeled shaft sections and components shipped separately to avoid damage during construction. All systems include a one-year warranty.
Optional features include disinfectant systems, sound-dampening coatings, rubber baffles, and interlock-equipped intake doors. Fire-rated doors and venting systems are tested and approved for compliance with national and NYC codes.
Compactor-150
The CE-150 Trash Compactor by Superior Chutes and Compactors is designed for buildings with up to 150 apartments. It compacts up to 11 cubic yards of waste per hour with a 4:1 ratio and 27-second cycle time. Trash can be packed into bags, continuous liners, or reusable 1–2 yard containers. The unit operates automatically via photoelectric sensor, with manual mode as backup.
Its compact, durable build includes welded steel construction, a Brinell 400 hardened floor plate, and multiple safety features like emergency stops and shut-off switches. Powered by a 3 HP motor (3-phase or optional single-phase), the hydraulic system delivers 38,000 lbs of force and includes a 12.5-gallon oil tank. The CE-150 is factory-assembled, tested, and built for long-term, high-volume performance.
Compactor-350
The CE-350 Trash Compactor by Superior Chutes and Compactors is built for large residential buildings with up to 350 apartments. It can process up to 15 cubic yards of waste per hour with a 30-second cycle time and 58,905 lbs of compaction force. Refuse can be collected in bags, continuous liners, or 1–2 yard reusable containers. The unit runs fully automatically via photoelectric sensor, with manual override and built-in safety features including emergency stops, shut-off switches, and alarms.
The compactor measures 73” high, 27” wide, and 90” long. It is constructed in three welded sections—chassis, hopper, and nozzle—and is shipped fully assembled and tested. Built for durability, it features reinforced 1/4” and 1/2” steel throughout, with abrasion-resistant Brinell 400 wear plates.
Powered by a 5 HP TEFC motor, it includes a programmable PLC controller with status display and safety timers. The hydraulic system runs at 3000 psi, using a 5” bore cylinder and a 13-gallon oil tank, delivering strong and reliable compaction for high-volume environments.
CE-CP Compactor
The CE-CP Apartment Compactor by Superior Chutes and Compactors is a compact, high-efficiency unit designed for residential use. It processes up to 34.4 cu. yds. per hour with a 32.4-second cycle time and 0.31 cu. yd. chamber. Measuring 31”W x 75”L x 70”H, it’s built with heavy-duty steel, including an AR400 wear plate and 1/2” ram face.
Powered by a 3 HP motor (5 HP optional), it runs on 208/230/460V 3-phase power and features a programmable controller with HMI, photo eye sensor, and safety switches. Its hydraulic system operates up to 3000 PSI with a 12-gallon oil tank. The CE-CP delivers strong performance in a space-saving design.
Automated Sorter Systems
Our Bi-Sorter and Tri-Sorter units are advanced, chute-mounted systems that automatically direct waste into two or three separate streams—trash, paper, and commingled recyclables. Installed above a compactor or over collection bins, these systems use motorized diverter gates and floor-by-floor control panels with illuminated push-buttons. The sorters help streamline recycling, reduce labor, minimize contamination, and ensure compliance with building waste management standards.
